2 Year Old Funding (2gether funding)

Free childcare places start the term after your child’s second birthday; however you can apply for your place during the term that your child turns two.
Once approved your 2gether funding lasts until your child turns 3 and becomes eligible for Early Years Entitlement, even if your financial circumstances change.

30 hours childcare

For children aged 9 months to 4 years. Eligible working families can apply for 30 hours of childcare to use from the term after their child turns 9 months until they reach school age.

3 & 4 Year Old Funding (Early Years Education Funding)

The government provides funding for all three and four year old children, starting from the funding period after their third birthday until they start school.

These children qualify for 15 hours of free Early Years Entitlement per week for up to 38 weeks per year, during school term time. The full 15 hours must be used over at least 2 days. There is no eligibility criteria for this funding, it is available to all children aged 3 and 4.

Childcare Vouchers

At T&D Childcare we accept childcare vouchers which are available via some employers. They work by enabling you to pay for your childcare out of your pre-tax and national insurance income. While this doesn’t sound much, the benefit is huge.
Basic-rate taxpayers can pay for up to £243 of childcare with vouchers each month (£55/week). This is per parent, so two working parents could get £486 of vouchers each month.

Tax free childcare

If you get Tax-Free Childcare, you’ll set up an online childcare account for your child. For every £8 you pay into this account, the government will pay in £2 to use to pay your provider.
You can get Tax-Free Childcare at the same time as 30 hours free childcare if you’re eligible for both.
