Meet the Team...

Tracey Hommell

Owner & Childminder

Tracey has been caring for children in her own home since 2010 and started T&D Childcare with her son in April 2016. Her qualifications include a Level 3 diploma in Childcare and Young Peoples Workforce and she is currently studying for a foundation degree in Teaching & Learning.

"I believe there is no greater job than caring for children, especially in their early years. Working with children has always been a passion of mine, and to be able to help them in developing themselves is a privilege. I have always cared a great deal for people, especially children. When my youngest son Alfie was born in 2009, I realised during his early years that childcare was something I felt very passionate about, and decided to start my own business; in 2010 Tracey’s Tiddlers was born.

Being a childminder has been my best job yet, and I strive to offer high quality care & learning whilst ensuring that all children are kept happy, safe & healthy. In 2015 my eldest son Danny joined me and together we have become T&D Childcare, aiming to offer children the greatest start in life."

"In 2015 I chose to leave my job in accounting to join my Mum, as her business was beginning to grow and she needed some admin support. It was then that I started assisting on busy days, and realised that caring for children was something I really enjoyed and found a lot of job satisfaction in (compared to working in an office). I find it fascinating how children’s minds and personalities develop so quickly during their early years and thoroughly enjoy teaching them new skills. One of my great passions in life is football, meaning I take a proactive approach towards the children’s physical development and encourage exercise such as running, jumping and kicking balls. I saw a great opportunity to expand upon my Mum’s business and after a year of caring for children we became T&D Childcare."

"I love being a part of the amazing T&D childcare team. Working with small numbers of children allows you to know each individual child inside out, grasping their interests and using this to help them grow and develop to their full potential within their learning.

T&D is like one big family wanting the best for each individual child in our care.

My favourite part is the exciting outings and adventures we get to go on from visiting shops to having fun at the beach. Seeing the expressions on the children’s faces whilst exploring new places is priceless"

Sam joined T&D Childcare in April 2019.

'I love working at T&D childcare, we do outdoor learning and indoor, so the children have a great chance to learn about all different types of things. Having small groups of children is great as we really get to know the children and their needs.'
